Helen Paul Learning Center
Kindergarten and First Grade Supply List
Please check with your child’s teacher to see if additional supplies are needed.
*Each student will need a backpack. Please make sure it is one without wheels and large enough to fit a folder and coat.
**We will also be making class T-Shirts this year. The cost for the shirt is $8, that will need to be sent in the first two weeks of school. Order forms will be available at Back to School.
We are pleased to announce that under the USDA’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), all students attending Helen Paul Learning Center will receive free breakfast in the classroom and free lunch during the 2016-2017 school year. This program will remain in effect for HPLC for the next four years. It is a pilot program for the district and we are working diligently to qualify all students at all campuses for future years. For the time being, all other schools strongly request parents to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Applications – even if you don’t qualify. We are so happy to be able to offer this jump-start to the day for our young students. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call the office at 918-266-8643. Thank you for your support!

2016-2017 Teacher of the YEAR!
Helen Paul Learning Center - Where did the name come from?
Helen Hamilton Paul was born October 26, 1912, and graduated from Catoosa Schools in 1930. She attended Tulsa University and Northeastern State Teachers’ College in Tahlequah, receiving her degree in 1940.
Mrs. Paul taught a total of 43 years – 40 years at Catoosa. She was an avid supporter of Catoosa and continued to encourage the education of our youth and the preservation of our history throughout her life. Mrs. Paul passed away December 29, 2008.
In 1997, the new Catoosa Public Schools’ Learning Center was named “Helen Paul Learning Center” in her honor. The center is located in the original elementary school at 400 S. Cherokee Street.

Catoosa teachers and administration rally to support educational funding
Teachers, parents and students from all corners of the state, including Catoosa Public Schools, converged at the state Capitol on Monday to urge legislators to invest in Oklahoma's public education system. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol estimated the crowd at between 25,000 and 30,000 people. Pictured above: Helen Paul Learning Center Faculty.

Clip box tops and earn cash for your school!
All Catoosa elementary schools collect General Mills Box Tops for Education. Each box top makes ten cents for our school. This really adds up...Schools have earned over $400 million through the Box Tops for Education® program since 1996, helping them buy much-needed supplies, fund school programs and more. Please put them in a baggie and send to school with your child. Let's start earning money for your school today!
