Dear HPLC parents and families,
I cannot thank you enough for all of your support during our first week of school. We have had a terrific start! The students were great, the teachers were excited, and it is just a fantastic time to be a Catoosa Indian. I know that we have had a few hiccups during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal but we will continue to enhance our procedures. I want to take this opportunity to remind all of our parents and families of a few suggestions that will make the process go more smoothly in the upcoming weeks.
➔ During dismissal, please do not walk up and pick up students at their pick-up area. Please stay in your vehicle and go through the pick-up line.
➔ When passing Oak Street and dropping off your child in the morning, please have your students unbuckled, have their backpacks on, and ensure they are located on the passenger side of the vehicle. This will help keep the line moving quickly.
➔ After your child(ren) exits the vehicle in the morning, please keep moving when it is safe to do so. Our staff will ensure students are greeted with a warm welcome and safely enter the building.
➔ Please keep in mind that the morning drop-off is a single lane and we only have one drop-off spot. Due to students no longer eating in their classrooms, we are dropping them close to the cafeteria.
Again, we are monitoring our process and we will be striving each day to enhance it. Please be patient with us and know that we are trying to be efficient while having your child’s safety in mind. I ask for your continued support of the staff and students at Helen Paul Learning Center. Great things are happening here!
Have a great weekend,
Traci Thomas Principal Helen Paul Learning Center
