A huge THANK YOU to our special guest from the Will Rogers Museum — Buckaroo Bart! 🤠
Oour 3rd grade students had an incredible time learning about Oklahoma Heritage. Buckaroo Bart brought history to life with his unforgettable presentation filled with laughter, trick roping, and the inspiring story of Will Rogers. 📜✨
Students also enjoyed hands-on activities that made the day extra engaging and memorable. As a special gift, Buckaroo Bart donated a signed copy of his book to the Cherokee Elementary media center — what a treat!
We’re so grateful for this fun and educational experience! 🙌

Late Post (1/7/2025):
Every year Mrs. Kus includes her students in donating Christmas Socks for the residence at Canoe Brook Assisted Living where her husband is the Maintenance Director for the facility. Every year socks are delivered to the elderly to keep their feet nice and warm for the winter along with student made Christmas cards. This year Mrs. Stephanie Hughes, art teacher at Cherokee Elementary, in assisted Mrs. Kus on having the students decorate cards to send off along with the residence socks! Students as well as staff at Cherokee Elementary assisted in collecting over 70 Christmas socks for the Canoe Brook Assisted Living facility here in Catoosa! This has been a joy for Mrs. and Mr. Kus every year seeing the smiling faces of the resisdence there at Canoe Brook!
